How to compile on Ubuntu?

Sorry for the very basic question but I am a noob here so I do not know how to compile this code?
I tries "./configure --arch=arm64" on Ubuntu running on rapsberryPi4 with python version 2.6. Thw whole set of commands that I tried are following.
1. ./configure --arch=arm64
2. make
3. sudo make install

Everything runs error free but I do not see the Installed app anywhere?
