Bug description
Hello,
Starting from a fresh Victoria 21.2 installation, I've made an upgrade to 22 Wilma. Everything seems to be fine except that several different sources of system information give different results, so contributing to some confusion :
utilisateur@cdr-USB3:/$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Linuxmint Description: Linux Mint 21.2 Release: 21.2 Codename: victoria
seeming to indicate that upgrade didn't work.
Then using the System Parameters => System Information , the resulting panel produces
indicating that it's really Cinnamon 22
but if I download all the system data by clicking on the first button of this panel, the result is (only the first paragraph
System: Kernel: 5.15.0-168-generic arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 11.4.0 clocksource: hpet Desktop: Cinnamon v: 6.2.9 tk: GTK v: 3.24.41 wm: Muffin v: 6.2.0 vt: 7 dm: LightDM v: 1.30.0 Distro: Linux Mint 21.2 Victoria base: Ubuntu 24.04 noble
indicating that it's still Cinnamon 21.2 but based on Ubuntu Noble!
Moreover using the command
cat /etc/os-release
I get :
NAME="Linux Mint" VERSION="21.2 (Victoria)" ID=linuxmint ID_LIKE="ubuntu debian" PRETTY_NAME="Linux Mint 21.2" VERSION_ID="21.2" HOME_URL="https://www.linuxmint.com/" SUPPORT_URL="https://forums.linuxmint.com/" BUG_REPORT_URL="http://linuxmint-troubleshooting-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/" PRIVACY_POLICY_URL="https://www.linuxmint.com/" VERSION_CODENAME=victoria UBUNTU_CODENAME=jammy
contributing to more confusion.
There is no consistency at all between all these different sources .
Which one is true?
