Bug description

When I turn on the computer, no matter how I try to use the settings all I get is the same ugly black screen.

Steps to reproduce

All I have to do is turn on my computer, and my desktop looks like the attached images, no matter what I do.

Expected behavior

I should at least get a desktop that is pleasant to look at.

Right-click on Desktop then select Change Desktop Background.
