Artist/Title and buttons partially obstruct visibility of album cover in sound@cinnamon

On a Linux Mint 22.1 (Cinnamon) - just installed.

As per the title and the image:

I guess I could edit /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/sound@cinnamon.org/applet.js myself to fix this if only I knew where and how (and I did it a few years ago on a LM 20.1 but I don't really remember how...)

Any quick help? 😄

I would just say that my theme is not transparent - which wouldn't solve if it was, anyway 😉

edit: sorry for my broken english, I meant to say that those info shouldn't be on top of the album cover art.

This is deliberate. You could find a theme with transparency, otherwise, this is done to save vertical space.

On my machine, the applet's popup takes roughly 470px of height (500+ if I include the panel it's attached to).

If we were to expand the height to reveal the other 100px of album cover, we're at 600px+ now, which is covering most of a smaller display's (netbooks, for example) vertical work-area.

The point of this applet is convenience, not optimal presentation of album art. Sharing this space with a transparent overlay of track info is pretty reasonable.

The applet file is in /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/sound@cinnamon.org if you want to mess with the layout, but I don't consider this a bug.

This seems to be due to CSS. Try modifying your theme's cinnamon.css file. Please post your solution here.

Made it good enough just by changing:

into:

Note that the 420 height works in my quick hack, but it's not perfect: the height of that part should adapt to the album art height, to be perfect (no, art isn't always square, it's pretty variable instead...)
