What

The herdr plugin README's "Driving it over Herdr Mirror" section said a plugin_action keybinding can't reach a remote box under Mirror — true for stock herdr-mirror, and the reason #100 documented the remote-pane workaround. That's no longer the case.

herdr-mirror v0.2.0 ships remote-invoke, which forwards any plugin action to the mirrored host behind the focused pane, handing it that pane's remote workspace and cwd (nikok6/herdr-mirror#28, plus nikok6's follow-ups #33/#34/#35 for the CLI link, failure toasts, and the bind/unbind/remote-actions helpers).

Changes

  • Lead the section with the remote-invoke flow, gated on herdr-mirror ≥ v0.2.0.
  • Bind it as a shell command with the absolute ~/.local/bin/herdr-mirror path — plugin_action can't carry the action argument, and herdr runs shell bindings through a login sh that never reads your shell rc.
  • Show the herdr-mirror remote-actions / bind / unbind route as the no-hand-editing alternative.
  • Call out the lilbox-specific wrinkle: outside a mirror, remote-invoke falls back to the local herdr, which for lilbox is the machine that deliberately has no plugin — so expect a toast, not a box.
  • Keep the mirrored-remote-pane and herdr --remote --remote-keybindings server routes as fallbacks, now labelled as the only options on herdr-mirror < 0.2.0.

Docs only — no code touched, worktree.removed teardown note unchanged.

herdr-mirror v0.2.0 ships `remote-invoke`, which forwards any plugin
action to the mirrored host behind the focused pane. That removes the
gap the "Driving it over Herdr Mirror" section documented since #100:
a locally-bound key can now open a box on the remote host directly.

Lead with the remote-invoke flow (bound as a `shell` command, since
`plugin_action` can't carry the action argument, plus the
`remote-actions` / `bind` / `unbind` helpers), gated on
herdr-mirror >= v0.2.0, and keep the mirrored-remote-pane and
`herdr --remote --remote-keybindings server` routes as fallbacks for
older versions.
