…ws its own table (#6982) The shard duration table came from one Linux run three weeks ago. 684 of the 2,242 suite files had no row and weighed the 157 ms median, so every platform's shards drifted apart: Linux 452-572 s, macOS 745-816 s and Windows 838-1279 s of measured test time in dev run 38250055508, against a uniform prediction. Both tables are now regenerated with scripts/ci/test-durations.ts refresh from that green lane=all run (dev dc45bb2). Linux and macOS keep sharing scripts/ci/test-durations.tsv, refreshed from their seven shard logs. Windows gets scripts/ci/test-durations.windows.tsv from its nine shard logs, selected by run-bun-test-batches.sh when RUNNER_OS is Windows (BUN_TEST_DURATIONS_FILE still overrides). Windows per-file cost is not a constant multiple of the other two: averaging all three platforms into one table made the Linux and macOS estimates worse than the stale table, and no single table balanced all three. The refresh tool now reads Windows group headers, which print backslash paths it previously skipped, and takes --table to write the Windows table. The crash-disposition fixture pins its own durations so its 500 ms batch budget no longer moves with the committed table's median.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Reject --table without a path.
If an operator runs refresh --source windows windows.log --table, rest[++index] is undefined. The fallback keeps DURATIONS_TABLE, so the command can replace shared-table measurements with Windows measurements instead of reporting an invalid command. Reject a missing operand and an operand that starts with - before resolving the path. Based on learnings, a CLI parser must distinguish an absent flag from a flag with a missing or invalid operand.

Reviewed the parser/selection delta at 682db5c2a2: Windows backslash group paths normalize to the existing forward-slash keys, explicit BUN_TEST_DURATIONS_FILE still wins, and the absence of the Windows table falls back to the shared table. Membership/batch assignment is otherwise unchanged. The new cases exercise the real shell runner with a fake Bun; that proves routing/coverage mechanics, not platform performance.
I independently verified source run 38250055508 is successful at dev dc45bb2ca9. I have not regenerated the two TSVs byte-for-byte or independently recomputed the timing estimates. Exact-head full dispatch 38254957359 is still queued at this observation, so measured acceptance remains pending. PR-event run 38254923548 has the Windows cleanup failure tracked in #7000; I opened Draft #7001 for the existing fixture-owner cleanup contract, not for retries or timing inflation. Keep that failure visible and requalify the resulting exact candidate rather than presenting estimates or a future dispatch as a green Windows lane. No manual scan/CI execution or approval.

The median fallback still applies to any file added after this refresh and is printed in each shard's log.
Why two tables. I first fed all three platforms' logs into one table, which is the tool's normal path. Windows per-file cost is not a constant multiple of Linux or macOS cost: across the suite it averages about 4.7× Linux, and the ratio varies widely by file. A single table refreshed from all 16 logs made Linux worse than the stale table in all three evaluations and macOS worse in two of three (1 s better in the third). A Linux+macOS table left Windows worse in two of three. Estimated maximum shard time, in seconds (this run / out-of-sample run 38214884055 / out-of-sample run 38162375606):
The bold columns are what this PR ships. Linux and macOS share the Linux+macOS table, which matches each platform's own optimum within noise. Windows uses its own table. Spread between the fastest and slowest shard under the shipped tables:
These are estimates. For each platform the files were assigned to shards with the same greedy algorithm and tie order as
run-bun-test-batches.sh; each shard's time is then the sum of that platform's measured per-file seconds. Process start is charged to the first file of each batch, as the tool does. Checked against reality, the estimator reproduces this run's observed shard sums exactly under the stale table. The in-sample column (this run) is optimistic by construction, which is why two earlier full runs are included. Bun process counts, taken from the real runner including serial-file singletons, are essentially unchanged: Linux 217 → 219, macOS 225 → 225, Windows 412 → 410. The acceptance evidence is the exact-head full dispatch of this PR, listed under Verification.Changes.
scripts/ci/test-durations.tsvregenerated;scripts/ci/test-durations.windows.tsvadded.scripts/ci/run-bun-test-batches.sh: defaults to the Windows table whenRUNNER_OSisWindowsand the file exists.BUN_TEST_DURATIONS_FILEstill overrides both. The prediction line now names the table it read, e.g.Predicted shard time from recorded durations (test-durations.windows.tsv): 1083s. Balancing, batching and coverage checks are unchanged.scripts/ci/test-durations.ts:tests\a\b.test.ts:, which the parser skipped entirely (zero Windows rows). Backslash paths are now read and stored with forward slashes.--table <tsv>option for writing the Windows table.gh run view --logrefuses a run this large.tests/ci-workflows/ci-crash-disposition.test.ts: the fixture now pins its own durations. Its 1 s cases have a 500 ms batch budget that depended on the committed table's median: three files at 157 ms fit, at 185 ms they did not.structure/ops/cross-platform-ci.mdandstructure/ops/docs-and-release.mddescribe the Windows table.run-bun-test-batches.shis on the Windows-sensitive path list, so this PR's own CI also runs the nine Windows shards.Closes #6982

The reviewer regenerated both tables byte-for-byte in an external copy (coverage Linux 2,235, macOS 2,242, Windows 2,242), confirmed the real-script assignment order and theRUNNER_OSselection, and judged the two-table design justified. It corrected two numbers in this description: process counts (now from the real runner) and the all-logs comparison column (my earlier candidate had double-counted one Windows log). Both are fixed above, and the corrected figures still support the design.682db5c2a250b192821a1684de76410091c3d14b: PASS, no blockers. The reviewer independently confirmed the corrected process counts and the all-logs column across all three evaluations, the byte-identical tables, and coverage (every file runs exactly once). Its two wording notes are folded above.Checklist
