Pin the parent directory for the complete no-follow write. atomicWriteFileNoFollow resolves the parent only to a path string. atomicWriteFileToTarget then creates the temporary file with path-based openSync, and renameAtomicFile calls path-based renameSync. Neither operation pins the resolved parent directory.
If an attacker replaces an intermediate or parent component after resolution, the temporary file creation and rename can resolve through the replacement directory. The final-entry lstat check still prevents following a symlink at the target entry, but it does not prevent the parent path from redirecting both operations. This can place the temporary file and committed integration file outside the intended directory, and the swap can occur after the ownership check.
Fix atomicWriteFileToTarget and its cleanup path to retain the resolved parent identity and perform temporary-file creation, rename, hardening, and cleanup relative to that pinned directory with no-follow semantics. A second realpathSync check is not sufficient because the parent can change after that check.

Correct the mutation-time symlink statement.
validateBeforeRename rejects a symlink observed before the rename. If another process swaps in a symlink after validation, atomicWriteFileNoFollow replaces the named entry instead of refusing or following it. State that later swaps cannot redirect OpenCodex's write outside Cline's settings directory.

Managed integration targets sat on a lower-trust boundary while the write path still followed resolvable symlinks: loadTarget probed with stat only, and writeText reached the shared atomic writer through resolveWriteTarget, so a retargeted link could redirect an atomic replacement into a victim file. loadTarget now cross-checks the named directory entry with the optional no-follow probe when one exists, refusing anything that is not a regular file or absent while preserving virtual pair probes such as Cline's pair-aware statKind. The shared writer gains atomicWriteFileNoFollow, which resolves the parent directory but never the final entry; every managed writeText pre-checks the entry, then validates again inside the atomic write immediately before the rename, so a link exchanged during a mutation is refused rather than followed. guardAsideProfileIO propagates the no-follow probe so the same classification reaches Aside profiles. Regression coverage: a symlinked omo catalog is classified unsafe and leaves its target untouched, a link swapped in before commit cannot be replaced through, and a Cline member exchanged for a symlink at the write boundary cannot redirect the pair write.

validateBeforeRename refuses a symlink observed at validation; a later swap is atomically replaced by the rename rather than refused or followed. Record that pinning the resolved parent directory for the whole operation is a deferred follow-up.
|
Docs follow-up at 993bbc7.\n\n- structure/clients/integrations.md now matches the writer: a symlink present at validation (including the pre-rename revalidation) is refused, while one swapped in afterward is atomically replaced by the rename — never followed — so a late swap still cannot redirect the write outside the Cline settings directory.\n- Parent-directory pinning (open/rename through a pinned parent for the whole operation) is explicitly deferred as a follow-up; structure/config.md records that the no-follow variant resolves the parent once and operates on the named entry. This PR scope stays final-entry reject plus pre-rename revalidation. |

Summary
loadTargetcross-checks the named directory entry with the optional no-follow (lstatKind) probe when one exists and classifies a link, or any entry that is neither a regular file nor absent, asnot-regular-file-- so state reportsunsafeand apply, refresh, disable, and restore refuse before writing.missingstays legal so a virtual pair probe such as Cline's pair-awarestatKindcan still report one absent member.atomicWriteFileNoFollow: it resolves the parent directory (OS aliases above the configured root stay legitimate, and Windows cannot exclusive-create a temp through a junction) but never the final entry.fileIO().writeTextuses it for every managed client, pre-checks the entry, and validates again inside the atomic write immediately before the rename -- so a link exchanged into place during a mutation is refused rather than followed, and even a swap past that point can only replace the named entry, never redirect the write through it.guardAsideProfileIOpropagates the no-follow probe so Aside profiles get the same classification.Verification
