MIT or Apache or even BSD. Or of course anything else, it's your code after all. :P Just anything to get a handle on this because as it stands, this code is "look don't touch", which is really a shame. :)

The University of Tübingen's FAQ about patent law is very relevant here. See Die häufigsten Irrtümer über Patente - 17. Patente und Open-Source-Software schließen sich aus. Unfortunately, the website is currently broken and clicking on the question does not expand the answer. But you can probably contact any member of their team to get this issue sorted out.

Anyway, thank you for at least making the code public, even if the license thing should not work out.
