Editors linked to channels on Admin page is yielding a different result

Observed behavior

On the admin panel on the "Channels tab", when I click on "can edit" for a particular channel, the new page that pops out has a number of users that does not match the number listed on the "Channels tab" next to "can edit." I tested this for multiple channels.

Steps to reproduce

1. Sign in as an admin
2. Open the Channels view/tab in the admin
3. Filter the channels using a keyword
4. Click the icon button in the 'Editors' column to view a channel's editors
5. Observe it shows more users than totaled in the 'Editors' column

Hi, I would like to work on this issue and contribute to Learning Equality - Studio project. Can you please provide more information on the steps I should take to fix the discrepancy in the number of users listed next to "can edit" on the Channels tab and the new page that pops out when clicking on "can edit" for a particular channel?

I've updated the issue description with clear steps to reproduce. It has been confirmed that #3611 didn't fix this entirely.

I have tried to reproduce the issue by the steps you provided.

However, I have noticed that the issue does not occur in the development environment, which only has 4 users (A, B, C & Admin). I am unable to reproduce the issue with the limited number of users in the development environment.

I would like to suggest adding a bunch of dummy users and testing the issue again to see if this can help us better understand and resolve the issue.

Could you please let me know if my suggestion of adding dummy users in bulk is viable and if there are any alternative methods to better understand and resolve the issue?

@akash5100 Here are steps to reproduce the issue in local development:

1. Sign in as user@b.com with password b
2. Create a new channel with name published
3. Sign out
4. Sign in as the admin user a@a.com with password a
5. Open the Channels page in the Administration section
6. Find the pre-existing channel called Published Channel which is public (has green dot)
7. Click on the button in 'Editors' column for the Published Channel
8. Observe User B is listed as an editor but isn't actually an editor of Published Channel
