[Enhancement]: Privacy — Browser Privacy Cleaner (per-browser cache/cookies/history) #336

Description

@laurentiu021

Problem

Browsers accumulate large amounts of cached data, cookies, and history. Users want to clean specific browsers without losing important login cookies.

Proposed solution

  • Per-browser support: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera
  • Auto-detect installed browsers
  • Per-category cleanup: Cache, Cookies, History, Autofill, Download history, Sessions
  • Keep list for cookies (never delete login cookies for specified sites)
  • Show size per category before cleaning
  • NEVER auto-clean: all actions require explicit user confirmation with checkboxes
  • Preview what will be deleted before action

Shipped in v1.31.0 as a working Browser Cleaner tab (Privacy & Security).

    What it does

    • Auto-detects installed browsers: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Firefox.
    • Per-category with sizes shown before cleaning: Cache, History, Cookies, Sessions.
    • Cookies and sessions are flagged "signs you out" and left unticked by default — cleaning them is always an explicit choice, so you keep your logins. Cache and history are pre-selected.
    • Confirmation with an impact summary (total size + a note when sensitive items are included) before anything is deleted.
    • Per-user (no admin). Locked files (browser open) are skipped rather than forced, and symlinks/junctions are never followed.

    How it's built

    • BrowserCleanerService takes injectable LOCALAPPDATA/APPDATA roots, so the scan + clean logic is unit-tested against a temp profile tree (6 tests) without touching real browser data. Scan is read-only; Clean deletes only discovered files with the same reparse-point-safe enumeration as Deep Cleanup.

Note on the cookie keep-list: rather than a partial per-site keep-list (which is fragile across browser DB formats), this ships the safer default — cookies are simply never cleaned unless you explicitly tick them. A per-site keep-list can be a future enhancement.

Install: winget upgrade laurentiu021.SysManager or the portable .exe from the v1.31.0 release.
