Steps to reproduce

• Create a trigger node and config its subscription.
• Check its output variables.
• Click Test Run.
• Switch to any other page in your browser.
• Back to Dify, check output variables again.

✔️ Expected Behavior

output variables persist.

output variables disappeared, not going back even after cleaning cookies and local storage.

This bug is already tracked and recognized by maintainers as a state persistence issue with trigger node output variables—see issue #1542. The root cause is that output variables for triggers are built dynamically from the plugin’s output schema in the frontend, but this schema isn’t persisted with the workflow node, so variables disappear when you reload or navigate away from the workflow editor. The backend only saves execution outputs for tracing, not for restoring the design-time schema, which is why the problem occurs (source).

Recent updates have improved general workflow and variable persistence (PR #30531, PR #30552, PR #30832), but none specifically fix this trigger output variable issue as of the latest releases. There’s no official workaround yet; some users have had partial success by re-importing nodes or resetting variables, but this isn’t guaranteed to fix the problem.
