Flametrap is an independent, open-source Electron bootstrapper and local customization manager for the official Windows Roblox client.
It provides a compact Liquid Glass Black settings interface, launch controls, local backups, Roblox community discovery, FastFlag management, appearance options, input sounds, and a layer-based cursor designer.
Important
Flametrap is an unofficial community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation. Roblox and the Roblox logo are trademarks of Roblox Corporation.
- Launch and repair helpers for the installed official Roblox client.
- Discord Rich Presence and optional Windows title/icon integration.
- Official Roblox community search with join actions that stay on
roblox.com. - Recent official deployment metadata and Flametrap-managed local backups.
- Cursor creation, custom cursor imports, skybox and ZIP overlay support.
- Custom keyboard and mouse sounds with per-device controls.
- FastFlags editor and optional Community Specials catalog for inspectable FastFlag and Texture Pack releases.
- Roblox global settings stored as a Flametrap-only launch profile.
- Seasonal branding, custom icons, fonts, colors, and launch splash styles.
- Automatic backups before Flametrap replaces supported local files.
Flametrap keeps its prepared Roblox deployment under its own application-data root. Process ownership is verified before Flametrap changes a Roblox window, applies launch settings, or closes a client, so Fishstrap, Bloxstrap, and ordinary Roblox sessions are left alone.
Flametrap does not request Roblox passwords or .ROBLOSECURITY cookies, inject
DLLs, write to Roblox process memory, or bypass anti-cheat.
The public repository intentionally excludes the bundled cursor, skybox, and input-sound collections because their redistribution licenses have not yet been documented. Existing local copies are not deleted. The application still supports user-created and user-imported assets.
See ASSET_LICENSES.md before contributing or distributing assets. An MIT license on Flametrap's source code does not relicense Roblox trademarks or third-party media.

npm ci
npm startValidate the project:
npm run check
npm testBuild Windows installer and portable executables:
npm run dist:winGenerated executables, ZIP files, local Cloudflare state, dependencies, and logs are deliberately excluded from Git. Distribute executables through a GitHub Release rather than committing them to the repository.
Community Specials is optional. Flametrap continues to work when no service is
configured. The existing FastFlag API and format remain supported. Texture
Pack metadata is stored in D1. The default Worker setup is D1-only and never
requests R2, a bucket, or an R2 subscription. Validated .flamepack binaries
and media use a private R2 bucket only when the operator explicitly deploys
with --with-r2. The Cloudflare Worker source lives in
cloudflare/worker.
Use SETUP_FLAGHUB.cmd for the D1-only setup. It takes a remote D1 export,
applies migrations, uploads a Worker version, promotes it to production, and
checks /v1/health. Operators who have separately enabled R2 can opt in with
--with-r2 and a separately selected Wrangler config containing the explicit
PACKAGES binding. Never commit
.wrangler, .dev.vars, tokens, account credentials, or object-storage
secrets.
Roblox may change or stop accepting client settings and local content layouts at any time. Review every FastFlag and Texture Pack before applying it. Texture Packs are data-only, use trusted logical slots, and are installed with local backups and deterministic priority. Keep Windows Security enabled and use the official, current Roblox client.
