Ah, it looks like your cert is expired completely, could you run minikube delete --all --purge (note this will delete all minikube clusters) and then try starting minikube again. The cert in the minikube home directory is expired, the --purge flag deletes the home directory completely, so next time you start minikube if should generate brand new certs. By default it should update the certs if they're expired, so this is definitely a bug.

Thanks man! I was facing the same issue that @pbxqdown was facing. minikube delete --all --purge, this works for me.

My problem is fixed by upgrading Ubuntu 20.10 to Ubuntu22.04. Ubuntu doesn't maintain non-LTS releases older than 1 year... @spowelljr maybe we can add a OS-support matrix for minikube?

The Kubernetes project currently lacks enough contributors to adequately respond to all issues and PRs.

This bot triages issues and PRs according to the following rules:

  • After 90d of inactivity, lifecycle/stale is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/stale was applied, lifecycle/rotten is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/rotten was applied, the issue is closed

You can:

  • Mark this issue or PR as fresh with /remove-lifecycle stale
  • Mark this issue or PR as rotten with /lifecycle rotten
  • Close this issue or PR with /close
  • Offer to help out with Issue Triage

Please send feedback to sig-contributor-experience at kubernetes/community.
