Vatti-Pet-Hotel
Duration: 7 hours
This application simulates a basic intake for a Pet Resort customer. Users can input their name, pet's name, breed, and color. Once the pet is added, their information will be displayed and stored on the DOM and in a databse. You can toggle the check-in or out status of the pet by clicking the 'Check In' button and the date of check-in will be displayed. If the 'Check Out' button is pressed, it will display the check-out date. After the pet has left the hotel one can delete the pet's information from the table, as well as the database using the delete button.
- Create a database named
pet_hotel
, - The queries in the
database.sql
file are set up to create the table. The project is built on Postgres, so you will need to make sure to have that installed. We recommend using Postico to run those queries as that was used to create the queries, - Navigate to the parent directory.
- Input into the terminal 'python -m venv venv' to create the virtual space.
- Activate the space by inputting '. venv/bin/activate' into the terminal.
- The required dependencies are already tied to the repository in the requirements.txt
- Type 'pip install - r requirements.txt' into the terminal, this will install all necessary requirements.
- We will need to run Flask by inputting 'export FLASK_APP=app.py' in the terminal
- 'flask run' in the terminal will run the application
Open your web browser:
- enter the address, "localhost:5000"
- Use the application
- HTML
- CSS/Bootstrap
- javaScript
- jQuery
- Python
- Flask
- psycopg2
- SQL
