Walk Search History
This plugin provides toolbar and keyboard shortcuts to moving forward and backward through your calibre search history.
The intention is to offer a similar experience to a web browser of allowing you to surf back and forth between your search results with Alt+Left / Alt+Right keys. Also very useful upon restarting Calibre to quickly restore your last search.
- Alt+Left Arrow to move back one search in your history
- Alt+Right Arrow to move forward one search in your history
- Search history maintained independently of that displayed in the combo dropdown
- Optional independent search history per library (retained until calibre closed)
- Additional history list displayed in toolbar dropdown menu
- Ability to clear the search history
- Shortcuts and other preferences customisable in a configuration dialog
Access the configuration dialog via:
- Preferences -> Plugins -> User interface action -> Walk Search History -> Customize plugin
- History -> Customize...
| Option | Description |

| Default toolbar button action | If you have this plugin in your calibre main toolbar, what should happen when you click on the image button. Previous search - apply previous search Dropdown menu - display plugin menu |
| Display last x searches | Optionally restrict how many searches to show in menu. Does not impact how many are stored, which is always max 25. |
| Keep separate history per library | When switching calibre libraries share search history or not. Checking this option will keep separate history. Per library history is lost when calibre is closed. |
