Can not change root password

I have just used the lastest flashboot code to create an image for a net4501.
I created a disk image and when I try to change the password I get the following error message:

[root@localhost]# passwd
passwd:passwd: undefined symbol _yp_check
lazy binding failed!
Segmentation fault

[root@localhost root]# uname -a
OpenBSD localhost 5.3 SOEKRIS4501#0 i386

This problem persists even when adding:

YP=no

to /etc/mk.conf
