Background

The initial approach in this repository from Jamie Kyle’s idea for logos in READMEs to a sample type specimen:

• Dark- and light-mode specimens, pt. 1

…but using media queries assumes the reader’s OS and GitHub theme preference are the same, which isn’t necessarily the case. Shortly after this, GitHub addressed this. The new approach is based on Daniel Adams’ example, modified to use a single SVG via defs:

The sample typeface is Encode Sans.
