MCP server for Needly #51

Description

@kasuken

Problem

Developers increasingly work through coding agents. Asking "what needs my attention?" inside Copilot Chat or Claude Code and getting a real answer is a genuinely novel surface, and it is cheap to build on the API the CLI work already requires.

docs/productidea.md section 16 gestures at this. It is now a concrete, standard protocol rather than a hypothetical.

Scope

An MCP server exposing Needly's attention model to agent clients.

Tools: list the attention queue, get action detail, archive, snooze, list team queue, list blocked work, search.

> What needs my attention?

3 pull requests need your review.
The oldest has been waiting 11h.
One touches authentication and a database migration.
Two of your own pull requests are waiting for reviewers.

Acceptance criteria

  • Standard MCP server, usable from Claude Code, Copilot Chat and other MCP clients
  • Authenticates as the user, and never exposes actions the user cannot already see
  • Read tools and write tools are clearly separated, so a client can grant read-only access
  • Tool descriptions are precise enough that an agent picks the right one without guessing
  • Rate limited per user
  • Published with setup documentation for the common clients

Depends on

The public API defined by the CLI work.
