please tell me how to deploy, i'm not familiar with docker, i have to point 2 domains to the project right, api.example.com for laravel and example.com for nuxt, please

Here’s a zero-Docker option that keeps your two-domain setup (api.example.com → Laravel, example.com → Nuxt).

Prerequisites
• VPS / bare-metal server with Ubuntu 22–24 (Alma/Rocky/CentOS work too)
• PHP ≥ 8.3, Composer, Node ≥ 20, Redis, Nginx
• Two A-records in your DNS:
– example.com → YOUR_SERVER_IP
– api.example.com → YOUR_SERVER_IP

Step-by-step

1. Install system packages

   sudo apt update && \
   sudo apt install -y nginx php8.3-{fpm,cli,mbstring,xml,ctype,json,bcmath,curl,zip,gd,redis} \
                       redis-server composer nodejs npm
   

2. Clone the repo and install dependencies

   git clone https://github.com/k2so-dev/laravel-nuxt.git /var/www/laravel-nuxt
   cd /var/www/laravel-nuxt
   
   # Laravel
   composer install --optimize-autoloader --no-dev
   cp .env.example .env
   php artisan key:generate
   php artisan storage:link
   php artisan migrate --seed
   php artisan octane:install   # choose Swoole or FrankenPHP; Swoole is fastest
   
   # Nuxt
   npm install -g bun           # or use npm/yarn
   bun install
   bun run build
   

3. Configure .env (key lines only)

   APP_URL=https://api.example.com
   SANCTUM_STATEFUL_DOMAINS=example.com
   SESSION_DOMAIN=.example.com
   

4. Create two Nginx v-hosts

   /etc/nginx/sites-available/example.com

       }
   }
   

   /etc/nginx/sites-available/api.example.com

       # Proxy everything to Octane

           proxy_pass         http://127.0.0.1:8000;
           proxy_set_header   Host $host;
           proxy_set_header   X-Real-IP $remote_addr;
           proxy_set_header   X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;
           proxy_set_header   X-Forwarded-Proto $scheme;
       }
   }
   

   sudo ln -s /etc/nginx/sites-available/example.com /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/
   sudo ln -s /etc/nginx/sites-available/api.example.com /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/
   sudo nginx -t && sudo systemctl reload nginx
   

5. Start services

   sudo systemctl enable --now redis-server nginx php8.3-fpm
   
   # Laravel Octane (Swoole)
   nohup php artisan octane:start \
         --server=swoole --host=127.0.0.1 --port=8000 \
         > storage/logs/octane.log 2>&1 &
   
   # Nuxt (production)
   nohup bun run start > storage/logs/nuxt.log 2>&1 &
   

6. (Optional) HTTPS via Certbot

   sudo apt install certbot python3-certbot-nginx -y
   sudo certbot --nginx -d example.com -d api.example.com
   

That’s it—your two domains now serve the stack without Docker.

Remember to keep the SANCTUM_STATEFUL_DOMAINS and SESSION_DOMAIN values as shown so cookies/CSRF work across domains.
