Is it possible to configure the maven surefire and failsafe to do the tree print without the standalone junit console launcher? |

No. But looking at Maven Surefire - Using JUnit 5 Platform - Extensions and Reports Configuration and the referenced maven-surefire-junit5-tree-reporter you might be able to use something that looks rather similar. |
