v1 Release - Cleanup, Tests, & Added Options

This is the changes for v1 release.

There is not significant changes - v0-beta has been used pretty extensively at this point with no issues reported since the last update.

In this PR I add:

• Some actual unit tests
  • Cover all the big stuff and common edge cases
  • Writing these did uncover one bug related to new submodules that was resolved by re-ordering some parts
  • Tie in was added to spoof the event payload
• Clean up some code
• Improve error messages
• Clean up and group logging
• Improve the readme
• Handle submodule checkout in the action
