Assembly & Fabrication Drawings

  • Only the OH Drawing Template shall be used for all MCAD drawings.
  • All drawings will be arranged using third angle projection.
  • Standard notes shall be used, and tailored as required.
  • All lettering shall use upper case only, except where permitted (i.e. "mm" not "MM").
  • Use a parts list for each assembly in the drawing. (Fusion is not capable of additional dash-number columns.)
  • Do not section hardware (bearings, screws, fasteners, etc.)
  • Use "FN" for Find Number, "FL" for Flag Note.
  • Mark parts not to be ordered as "REF" or if included with another part as "PART OF FN x" where x is the FN of the part the sub-part is included with.
  • Initial revision shall be rev "-", not blank.

External document references:

  • All references to panel build: OH-SPEC-0001: Panels (Add actual flag note)
  • All drawings with an electronic component will refer to the appropriate interconnect. (Fill out with actual list of flag notes)

Items to verify on drawing revision:

  1. Uses latest flag note 2.

Fabrication Files

  • In all cases, file extensions may be either upper or lower case, i.e. .SVG or .svg.

SVG Files

  • SVGs shall be named based upon the following criteria, where rev is the drawing revision. The first revision shall be "-":
  • <MATERIAL>_<MATERIAL COLOR, IF APPLICABLE>_<THICKNESS, IN DECIMAL INCHES>_<PN>_<DESCRIPTION>_<REV>_V<VERSION NUMBER OF MODEL>.SVG
    • MDF_.750_OH1A3A2-28_RIB 7B_-_V55.SVG
    • ACRYLIC_WHITE_.125_OH4A7-384_PART DESCRIPTION 3_C_V33.SVG
    • ACRYLIC_CLEAR_.250_OH3A7-123_PART DESCRIPTION 749_A_V15.SVG

3MF Files

  • All 3D Printed parts shall have an 3MF file.
  • They should be saved in an optimal print orientation to minimize the need for support material, and face against print bed when item is operator-facing. (This requirement is a should. It's not easy to do natively from F360.)
  • 3MFs shall be saved with a High refinement.
  • Each file shall be named based upon the drawing revision and print type. The first revision shall be "-":
    • FDM_<PN>_<DESCRIPTION>_<REV>_V<VERSION # OF MODEL>.3MF (i.e. FDM_OH1A1A1-483_PART 2B_-_v22.3MF)
    • RESN_<PN>_<DESCRIPTION>_<REV>_V<VERSION # OF MODEL>.3MF (i.e. RESN_OH1A1A2-374_PART 7A_-_v27.3MF)

STEP Files

  • All machined or bent parts shall have a STEP file.
  • Format to be STEP214.
  • Each file shall be named based upon the drawing revision and print type. The first revision shall be "-":
    • <PN>_<DESCRIPTION>_<REV>_V<VERSION # OF MODEL>.STEP (i.e. FDM_OH1A1A1-483_PART 2B_-_v22.STEP)

PDF Files

  • All decals or other traditionally ink printed parts shall have a vector-based PDF.
  • Each file shall be named based upon the drawing revision and print type. The first revision shall be "-":
    • <PN>_<DESCRIPTION>_<REV>_V<VERSION # OF MODEL>.PDF (i.e. FDM_OH1A1A1-483_PART 2B_-_v22.PDF)

Beta1 Release Package Errata

  • A number of drawings may state manufacturing files are DXF/STL. We changed the requirement to use SVG and 3MF files mid-stream of drawing generation. We did not revise all the completed drawings (usually Note 2) to reflect this. They will be updated at their next revision on an attrition basis.
