New IDE style layout [Feature Request]

I know we can add our own custom layouts, but would it be possible to add a layout to the repo similar to the Default layout but with a small terminal at the bottom of the Editor pane (similar to VS Code)? I made an attempt but wasn't able to get very far.

If this is a lot to ask for the project, maybe someone from the community that uses a similar config wouldn't mind sharing it here.
