🚀 Project list 🚀

Date Project & Details
2022
🌐 Deployment of a ML model (post, repo)

The deployment of a ML model on the cloud, accessible through an API:

  • Make a (simple, dummy) Machine Learning model
  • Containerize it with Docker
  • Make an API for people to query it
  • Make the API publicly available through Amazon's AWS EC2
2022
🕵🏼‍♂️ WhatsApp Message Analysis (link)

An analysis of WhatsApp messages containing:

  • Data Analysis (all kinds of plots)
  • Sentiment analysis
  • A summary of most used words (using TF-IDF)

⚙️ Workshop: Getting Started with Julia (link)

I held a workshop for Jousef Murad (~90K followers) where I taught students about the basics of julia.
Most students had an engineering background and were familiar with Matlab, so I wanted to show them other available options out there. The workshop was a success and several students asked for more information in the days that followed.

2022
👶 Learning C# basics (link)

In order to broaden my horizons and get ready for upcoming opportunities, I decided to spend some time learning the basics of C#.
I solved some Computer Science problems such as the ones in the Euler Project.

2022
👶 Learning Scala basics (link)

In order to broaden my horizons and get ready for upcoming opportunities, I decided to spend some time learning the basics of Scala. I also knew that PySpark is based on Spark, which is written in Scala so this is an opportunity to sharpen my Data Science/Data Engineering skills by getting to know the root language of PySpark.
I solved some Data Analysis problems.

📁 Professional website (link)

As a Mathematician and Data Scientist, web development was never part of any curriculum I followed. For years however, I had been thinking about building my own website from scratch. I made several unsuccessful attempts at building a good-looking, fully-functional, bilingual website before succeeding. My projects, personal information, resume are now live online, as well as ways to contact me. This website is an entry point for the outside world and potential clients.

2021-2022
📚 Learn Julia in 3 small projects ( link )

This is a course published by Manning Publications.
This course teaches Julia for data science to newcomers as well as more intermediate practicioners. By using a project-based approach, students learn new concepts and apply them straight-away. This allows for better understanding and a direct check of whether the concepts are well-understood.
The course was sold to close to 100 customers and feedback has been very positive so far.

2021 - 2022
🥋 Judovar

Judovar is a deep learning-based judo video assistant referee.
The goal of the project is to create a deep learning algorithm to automatically detect scores in a video of a judo fight.
This project is closed-source.

2022
📱 The Judovar app

Oriented for Android devices, but desktop and web (almost) come out of the box with Flutter.
I learn Flutter on my own, with nothing else that what's freely available online.
This project is closed-source.

2022
🖌️ The Colour Path (link)

The Colour Path is a website that tells your life path based on you name and birthdate.
This is a reactive webiste, written in Plotly Dash, with Bootstrap. The customer wanted a website that would display specific information based of several inputs. It (supposedly) tells you what your main characteristics are, based on your name and birthdate. The customer provided all resources and I focused on the computation and interface.

2020-present
🎥 YouTube channel (link)

I own a YouTube channel that deals with Data Science and programming.
So far, videos have been mostly about Julia, but I may diversify the content that is posted as I see fit. The channel has a few hundreds subscribers (2022), but gives a good way of communicating with other data science enthusiasts. There are several subscribers that regularly come back whenever I release a video, which gives a sense of a small community.
