I'm not sure exactly when these existed, but they're corrected within normalize-package-data. That correction code was introduced by npm/normalize-package-data@26d7879, but the commit message is awful and there's no comment telling me why those fields were supported.
Nevertheless, we should add support before I try to use this package in normalize-package-data.
