Cannot follow anyone from search results

I just installed a Loops Android APK on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android version 14.

After logging in and looking around the Loops Android app — I wanted to follow some people.

I tapped the search icon, and typed in "dansup".

Daniel's account show up.
I went to it.
I tapped the "Follow" button, but nothing happened.
It felt as if the "Follow" button doesn't even work.

I tried the same on another accounts that showed up in search, too, ("DocPop") and it still didn't work.

(In fact, tapping on "Followers" also doesn't work.)

HOWEVER, when I went to a profile from a video in the "For You" feed, and tried to follow, it did worked.
