This is the last update I will post for this project unless it breaks compatibility with the MySQL database. This update includes the new backend, removal of the get by field, and updated dependencies.
Version 2.6 has been released! This version includes support for the new backend as well as AES encryption and decryption! Also this is going to be the FINAL planned release for this project! I am going to be focusing my efforts on the REST API over the CLI! I will still post bug fixes as needed but don't plan on any new features!
As some of you may know I have recently started to split parts of the program apart from eachother. I have recently released the new and improved backend of the program at https://github.com/jnstockley/AddressBook. I am currently startting to rewirte the CLI with the same improvements and also to include the new and improved backend. Stay tuned!
This is a minor quality of life update to fix some bugs! Change Log:
- Improved reliability when performing an action on the database
- Auto check for update
- The program will check for updates when launched and notify you if you need to update!
- Full Switch to maven project!
Verison 2.0 has been released!
This is the biggest update since I have release the first address book!
- Save Connections
- New CLI
- More data fields
- More ways to interact with data
- Logging system for errors
- Check for updated version
- More flexibility for data searching
- Date and time creation for each object
- More reliable
- Bug fixes
If you want to use your own server then this program has that ability! To start you will need to setup a MySQL server and a database. Then create 3 tables one for address, occupation and person! I will release the scripts that I use to setup my server once I finish creating them!
At this time there is no easy way to use my server unless you want to edit the addressBook.java file and enable testing! I plan on releasing a second .jar file with this defaulted!
