golang bindings: compiler error

When using the golang bindings and try to compile / install I get the following compiler error:

ws2811/ws2811.go:50: cannot use C.int(brightness) (type C.int) as type C.uint8_t in assignment

Note: the library and python bindings work perfectly.
Has anyone tested the lib using go ?
any clues ?
