Work on the eqxsync template in jet/dotnet-templates#16 has made it abundantly clear that any projector needs to periodically emit stats.
While the final form of this is not clear, it's abundantly clear that
eqxprojectand/or relatedeqxsynctemplates that involve reading or writing to CosmosDb need these basic primitives out of the box given their esoteric nature (and the likely opportunities in terms of optimizations to the processing logic)
