Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

It's frustrating needing to move character by character in a commit message, coming from git gui.

Describe the solution you'd like

Pressing Ctrl + LeftArrow/RightArrow should move the cursor one word to the left/right.
Pressing Ctrl + Backspace should delete the word before the cursor.
Pressing Ctrl + Delete should delete the word after the cursor.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I don't think there are any, really, this is default behavior in most text editors and also git gui.

All of these (except "delete the word after the cursor") are available, but with alt instead of ctrl. On Mac at least, these are the default keybindings in other apps as well. Are you on Windows, and are the ones with Ctrl standard there?

Option + Delete (for macOS) worked, but in the latest version, it does not. I believe this is a regression.

The text edits are handled from gocui: https://github.com/jesseduffield/gocui.

I wrote a patch that implements ctrl+arrow for word jumping and ctrl+backspace/del for deletions here: https://github.com/cjodo/gocui/tree/feature/ctrl-jump-support. It doesn't conflict with the original mac functionality, it just adds on top of the existing keybindings
