Refresh Dashboard

Is the analog of dashboard refresh function to call when widget list is changed?

Cos now I've effect when changed widget list make the dashboard broken:

Looks like in left unchanged widgets on their places and put all the changed widgets in THE first position of the dashboard.

dashboard.refreshWidgets()

does not help to recalculate positions...

Hello,

Are you using dynamic population (with addWidget) or static (with html template) ? Look like the dashboard as some references to the old widget so still use them for positioning

Glad to read You. I'm using static approach. Here is widget code fragment:

I change the 'pList' Array, and after that the widgets positions are broken.

I didn't do much test with static widget as I use only dynamic one, so I guess I don't refresh widgets positions when the content of the dashboard change :/
Problem is here: https://github.com/jaumard/ngx-dashboard/blob/master/src/components/dashboard/dashboard.component.ts#L123 I put static widgets as dynamic one in order to manage only one list. When you modify your list it doesn't change here :/

I see, I remember I had some problems with widget renedering when I try to use dynamic method. That's why I prefer static method.

If it's hard to fix, I will return to dynamic one.

If you want to give it a try and fix it you're welcome, currently my angular knowledge is limited ^^ I don't know how I can have an event when the dom content has changed. Once you have it it's simple because you just rebuild the array based on the query and then refresh widget should work correctly :)

For now I don't have a lot of time to work on this so if you can take a look it will be cool :)

I'm trying "ugly ugly ugly ugly..." hack..

for(let p of this.pList) {
      if (this.dashboard) {
        widgetDict[p.id] = this.dashboard.getWidgetById(p.id);
      }
    }
    if (this.dashboard) {
      this.dashboard.clearItems();
      for (let wId in widgetDict) {
        this.dashboard.addItem(widgetDict[wId]);
      }
    }

But get the error

Could You provide an example of getting Item by ID and adding Item after clearItems()?

Here it is my dirty hack:

if (this.dashboard) {
      setTimeout (() => {
        this.dashboard.clearItems();
        this.dashboard.ngAfterViewInit();
      }, 50);
    }

Without timeout it does not work... I cannot find the reasons...
But now my static widgets are updated if I change the widgetList ('pList').
