Cannot use with brew installed jackd

When jackd has been installed via brew, the following error occurs when trying to save connections:

$ jmess -s remote.xml
dyld: Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/Jackmp.framework/Versions/A/Jackmp
  Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/jmess
  Reason: image not found
Abort trap: 6

Correction, this happens with the version of jackd installed from the jack site directly.

This is under macOS catalina
