- Expand .gitignore with comprehensive coverage for Python development
- Add patterns for IDEs (VS Code, PyCharm, Vim, Emacs, Sublime)
- Include OS-specific files (macOS, Linux, Windows)
- Add testing framework artifacts (pytest, tox, coverage)
- Include type checking caches (mypy, pytype, pyre)
- Add security and certificate file patterns
- Cover container, logs, and database artifacts
