Thank you for your interest! Currently, the extension is not yet usable due to some issues we’re facing—please see WASM Limitations Encountered for more details. There are also other important tasks we need to prioritize first, so resolving these issues is not our top priority at the moment. However, we are committed to working on it, and once we finish the MVP, we will @ you. Thank you for your attention to this project!

@ArthurFranckPat Use see installation We have resolved the WASM limitations by leveraging LSP functions. The extension now supports basic functionality:

✅ Working Features

• Text Selection Sharing: Zed can send selected text context to Claude Code CLI
• File Reference Handling: Selected code snippets and file paths are transmitted
• WebSocket Communication: Stable connection between Zed and Claude Code CLI

🚧 Limitations

• LSP Diagnostics: Not yet implemented. The Zed extension acts as an LSP client, but does not currently expose IDE diagnostic information (such as errors, warnings, or type hints) to Claude Code CLI.
• One-way Communication: The main flow is from Zed → Claude Code; there are only limited capabilities for Claude Code → Zed communication.

I've installed it successfully and connected it, but I'm lost in how I can utilze it, could you help me out?

Same here, not exactly sure how to use it. Is there a dedicated option to open it in zed's interface or do we just run it in the terminal?

I got it working:

1. Open Zed with a supported file (.rs, .js, .ts, .tsx, .py, .md)
2. Start Claude in any terminal
3. Hit /ide - it will show choices like:
   │ ❯ 1. claude-code-server✔
   │ 2. None
4. Select some lines in Zed, then ask Claude "Can you see my selection?" to confirm the connection is working

There you go! The extension should now be connected.
