Slice goal
WebUI runtime dual-load of modern gadget-catalog.json (prefer modern catalog; fall back to classpath GadgetRegistry.xml), then retire registry XML as the sole product authoring/runtime source.
In scope
- Load modern catalog from classpath/resource path (parity with
modules/perc-packages/.../catalogs/gadgets/gadget-catalog.json) - Selection policy: modern preferred → legacy registry XML fallback (align with ADR-004 dual-run shim spirit)
- Keep
GadgetRegistry.loadGadgetTypeMap()/getGadgetTypebehavior for Percussion vs Deprecated grouping - Unit tests (registry + dual-load selection); update
GadgetRegistryTest - Optional: align SPA
gadgetsCatalog.tsids with catalogidfield where safe
Out of scope
- Gadget UX / SPA rewrite
- Deleting legacy definition XML paths that are already gone
- Widget/page packaging
Acceptance
- Runtime grouping works from modern catalog without registry XML when catalog present
- Fallback to
GadgetRegistry.xmlwhen modern absent - Module clean install green (WebUI)
