PR Summary

Fixes #4684

Starting from Python 3.13, using maxsplit as a positional argument in re.split is deprecated and will become keyword-only in future Python versions. Currently, this triggers the following warning:

DeprecationWarning: 'maxsplit' is passed as a positional argument

This PR updates the codebase to explicitly use maxsplit as a keyword argument. Didn't find other instances of positional maxsplit usage in the codebase.

For more information see the official Python docs.

Sorry about the delay @emmanuel-ferdman -- I was out sick. I think this looks good and I've triggered the tests to run. They'll need to pass before it'll merge.
