The script is converting all gif or apng into static pngs

I know there is a option --convert-gif, but even if I do gif2apng manually before using this script, the logs show that the Paperclip is only keeping the first frame, thus leaving the converted files empty.
I suspect that with the current version of Paperclip, EmojiCropper has some problems with it. I do not know how to fix it yet.

Oh yeah, Paperclip/ImageMagick probably doesn't recognize aPNG. Right now the script converts all images even if cropping is off, because Mastodon had trouble with images from the Internet (5ebceb6). If all of the files are local, you could try uncommenting lines 88 and 90.

Oh also, do you have "Auto-play animated GIFs" enabled in account settings? Animated emoji won't animate (even on hover) unless that setting is on.

I always have play GIF enabled. Haven't got the time to check if skipping crop step would work, but I know that in my case I am always importing current emojis from Pleroma and Mastodon directly, so they should already be squares.
