CSC

This is the repository for the Brock University Computer Science Club web page.

Prerequisites

Installation

  • First run yarn install from the terminal. This will install all the required packages into the node_modules folder in the root directory.

Development

  • To run a development server, run npm run start.
  • This will spawn a server which can be accessed from http://localhost:8080.
  • If wanting to lazy load images from the assets folder, run npm run gen:img. This will generate a file which can be located at src/tmp/assets.json. The file contains the configs for the images which then can be used within the app.

Building for production

  • In order to build the site, run npm run build. This generates a dist folder in the root directory which will contain the minimized version of the site.
  • This will also run a postbuild script that will generate a serviceworker which will provide the PWA capabilities for the site.

Deployment

  • After the application has been built, we can finally run npm run deploy which will deploy the application to the master branch of this repository.
