v0.8.141
HyperFrames v0.8.141
Released on 2026-10-08.
Renders no longer fail when a page links a Google font with axis values the family lacks. Studio previews of hard-to-play videos decode at their on-screen size.
Changes
- A font whose Google Fonts link returns no usable faces now falls back to the standard weight request, so renders keep the font instead of failing. (#5186).
- Unresolved-font errors carry structured diagnostics about which resolver step failed, without font names, URLs or page text. (#5189).
- The player loads compositions using the document's own duration and reports the first author error. (#5176).
- Studio decodes HEVC and ProRes previews at the size they appear on screen, so back-to-back 4K clips no longer flash the background. (#5184).
- media-use can reach HeyGen through a host app's gateway with
HEYGEN_API_BASE. (#5181).

v0.8.140
HyperFrames v0.8.140
Released on 2026-10-07.
Motion blur now works over video, and rendering reports encoding and assembly progress. Studio previews, image replacement, and long-timeline zoom are more reliable.
Changes
- Composition hosts can show the hover outline and set the stage’s starting size. (#5116).
- Replacing an image fill now changes the displayed picture. (#5170).
- Rebound root timelines keep advancing with the playback clock. (#5165).
- Slow documents wait for their own frame cadence before capture. (#5168).
- Fresh timeline updates from a host are preserved. (#5159).
- Transcription keeps words spoken before the detected speech onset. (#5164).
- Zooming long timelines does less image decoding and drawing. (#5142).
- The preview catches up after missed file changes. (#5126).
- Music requests use the host app’s music tools, with a clear error when the required CLI is missing. (#5154).
- Feedback can report missing features and host-app friction without a rating. (#5140).
- Automatic render worker counts respect the available memory budget. (#5149).
- CLI startup loads reporting code without loading the full rendering engine, and history tests no longer race. (#5153).
- Motion blur renders correctly over video by keeping the video frame steady across samples. (#5150).
- Checks avoid false static-motion and text-overlap warnings on valid compositions. (#5147).
- Imported scenes stay within their source time ranges. (#5132).
- Rendering shows progress while encoding and assembling the output. (#5137).
- Imported film HTML can use native capture while preserving its structure. (#5131).
- Catalog previews run block scripts inline, and six shader blocks have dedicated documentation pages. (#5139).
- The catalog adds six WebGPU shader backgrounds. (#5138).
- Asynchronous frame sources can render repeatable frames. (#5130).
- Skill publishing verifies that the latest creative guidance is available. (#5081).
- WebGPU compositions can render with software graphics through an opt-in setting. (#5133).
- Producer unit tests run without reaching the network. (#5135).
- Timeline zoom stays smoother on long projects. (#5109).
- Browser tests use a consistent launch path and a bounded time budget. (#5134).
- The preview preloads upcoming scene images, and checks handle image swaps correctly. (#5128).

v0.8.139
HyperFrames v0.8.139
Released on 2026-10-06.
Built-in transcription now runs inside the HyperFrames desktop app. transcribe --json streams words as they are heard, except with parakeet-mlx. Studio drags after a resize, undo or reload land where they were pressed.
Features
Fixes
- CLI: Read the WAV in JS so Built-in transcription runs inside Electron (f7bba2288, #5129).
- Core: Keep nested scenes in place during a drag when the root has no timeline (d94708e53, #5115).
- Core: Renders keep a fromTo's from-only values from the frame it starts on (755ab7d16, #5125).
- Studio: Drags after a resize, undo or reload land where they were pressed (dc244d765, #5088).
- CLI: Let parakeet-mlx detect the language and name the Parakeet install under auto (34552a21d, #5124).
- Studio: A timeline jump no longer starts thumbnail loads it is about to cancel (b9e511a76, #5085).

v0.8.138
HyperFrames v0.8.138
Released on 2026-10-06.
Parakeet transcription now loads the Sherpa copy that ships with the CLI when the cached one is broken. Loaded compositions keep their SVG icons, and Studio says so when GSAP cannot load offline.
Features
Fixes
- Studio: An offline preview says GSAP could not load instead of an unhandled Event (5fad52f21, #5111).
- Studio Server: Keep the desktop app's hand-off and chat history out of the file routes (32516b5a3, #5113).
- Studio: Clip #root so programmatic scrolls cannot push the header off-screen (518694ac6, #5110).
- Core: Preserve SVG icons in loaded compositions (eff786383, #5096).
- Studio: Dragging a Layers row no longer highlights the row names (8b5b012e5, #5104).
- CLI: Use a healthy pinned Sherpa copy beside the CLI (f6e419eb2, #5095).
Internal
- Studio: Bundle the real-Chrome undo test with esbuild so its setup fits on Windows (b9998dd5a, #5080).
- Producer: Compiler parity test runs without the network (f80614cde, #5087).
- Studio: Keep the undo socket gate's sockets pinned past Chrome's idle media suspend (43d07781d, #5108).
- Remove committed design notes and ignore docs/contracts (6308727b8, #5107).

v0.8.137
HyperFrames v0.8.137
Released on 2026-10-06.
Compositions with large inline images or scripts use far less memory while they load for preview. Whisper transcription detects the spoken language and can report progress.
Fixes
- Studio: Audio clips that reach the export ceiling now say “Too loud”, with the exact peak on hover or keyboard focus (4905b4dbc, #5099).
- Core: Large inline images and scripts use far less memory while a composition loads (00342fc2b, #5098).
- CLI: With Whisper,
transcribedetects the spoken language instead of assuming English, and--jsonreports download and transcription progress. The new--no-runtime-installflag stops it installing the Whisper runtime (1db44c659, #5103).

v0.8.136
HyperFrames v0.8.136
Released on 2026-10-06.
Previews now open without exhausting memory when a composition contains large inline background images. Project setup explains when a folder name is too long.
Fixes
- CLI: Init refuses a name too long for a folder in one plain sentence (d45cb34e2f, #5071).
- Fixed app launch crashes and Studio preview stalls caused by entity-quoted image URLs (#5100).

v0.8.135
HyperFrames v0.8.135
Released on 2026-10-05.
Studio edits preserve animation easing and Undo restores the latest edit, while Layers icons and nested scenes behave more predictably. Catalog previews now load under the docs site's script policy, with safer script encoding.
Fixes
- Studio: Keyframed animations keep their ease through every Studio edit (0d5e395cd3, #5051).
- Studio: Undo takes back the last edit, even right after a resize or a nudge (98fe011699, #5048).
- Studio: Layers rows show a kind icon, and only a group row has a caret (f7d6734761, #5067).
- Engine: A render fails when a composition's own script throws before its timeline binds (39a693c0a4, #5033).
- Core: A sub-composition follows its host clip when the host moves without a reload (5d19e23cb4, #5058).
Docs & Examples
- Skills: Teach shared cut constants and fill lights for Three.js scenes (6c353d89c8, #5077).
Catalog
- Catalog: Encode module aliases before constructing script code (1d9b3673fa, #5093).
- Catalog: 3D previews load their scripts under the docs host's script policy (f835f83164, #5090).
Internal
- Pin the guards that keep script-placed scenes and unparseable scripts out of the in-place move (3c40f37938, #5079).

An app that embeds Studio can now hold playback, so pressing play or Space does nothing while the hold is on.
