chore: basic clippy cleanups

Fixed all clippy warnings on the latest stable rust version, except https://rust-lang.github.io/rust-clippy/master/index.html#assertions_on_constants which I figure should be addressed in a separate PR.

Note: The drop(l); statements might look weird, but are correct because of how the tokio::test macro expands.
