A HACS custom integration for Home Assistant that allows you to control Plex devices. For more information, visit https://github.com/haumlab/plex-hacs.
- Persistent Media Players: Export Plex clients as Media Player entities with detailed metadata.
- Now Playing Info: See title, artist, album, season/episode, and progress.
- Session Tracking: A sensor that shows how many people are watching and what they are watching.
- User Attribution: See which Plex user is watching on which device.
- Full Control: Play, Pause, Stop, Next, Previous, Seek, and Volume control.
- Automation Ready: Use playback states and session counts in your Home Assistant automations.
- Open HACS in your Home Assistant.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner.
- Select Custom repositories.
- Paste
https://github.com/haumlab/plex-hacsinto the Repository field. - Select Integration as the category and click Add.
- Find Plex Custom Control in HACS and click Download.
- Restart Home Assistant.
- Go to Settings -> Devices & Services -> Add Integration and search for "Plex Custom Control".
This integration supports the Plex.tv PIN flow. You will be given a 4-digit code to enter at https://plex.tv/link. This is the easiest and most secure way to connect.
Alternatively, you can still use a manual token if you prefer.
