I found some vague mention in what looked like an IRC chat log which said that consul.io takes care of distributing requests across more than one DNS answer using a strategy very similar to round-robin. If this is correct, it'd be worthwhile putting in the documentation. I'd be happy to add it, too (once confirmed).

The wording is rather subtle, and easy to miss however.
