Incompatible with Humble Bundle Version

The patcher doesn't recognize the (Mac) Humble Bundle version, and when I modified the patcher to accept the Humble version's hash, the patcher fails with an error that it can't find type "L" in the executable.

I assume this is a similar problem to issue #1, where the internal structure of the executable is different.

I don't know much about Mono debugging, but I can provide the executable if you need it.

I didn't realise it before, but it turns out I also have access to the Humble Bundle version, since I got a key for it as part of buying the special edition! I tried patching it and got the same problem as you. It seems that the version on Humble Bundle is a bit older than Steam/GoG and doesn't have support for Chinese, which is why it's missing the L and LocString classes.

There were a few other differences but I managed to hack it enough to get it working. Try checking out the "humble" branch in this repo and see if that works for you. It will be a bit tricky making a universal patcher than works for both the HB and Steam/GoG versions but I might look into it later on.

BTW, the hash for my Humble Bundle version was different from yours. The file I downloaded was called SHENZHEN_IO_MacOS_V4.zip and the details on the page look like this:

Is it possible you have an older version? If so, you might want to download the latest just in case there are other differences between yours and the one I tested.

Ooh, that's interesting. The file I downloaded (some time ago?) was called SHENZHEN_IO_MacOS_V3.zip, and it had a different hash. I checked, and the V4 zip was available from my Humble library - I'm downloading it now, and I'll try the patcher!

It works! (I used V4.) I think my save files survived intact as well.

Looking forward to playing around with the big profiling area. I think I can get it playing Rasputin on FM/iX...

I'll leave this issue open for the time being, until I get a chance to make the patcher work automatically with both versions.
