Fix spacing of Cyrillic Capital Letter Fita (Ѳ, U+0472) on Google Sans Bold

Describe the bug

Cyrillic Capital Letter Fita (Ѳ, U+0472) is badly spaced on Google Sans Bold 700, lefting a white space after the next character.

To Reproduce

1. Download Google Sans from this link and install it to your computer.
2. Open LibreOffice
3. Choose Google Sans font, apply Bold style and Cyrillic Capital Letter Fita (Ѳ, U+0472) to your document.

Expected behavior

Cyrillic Capital Letter Fita (Ѳ, U+0472) should be properly spaced.

The right side-bearing in the Bold master is set to 866 for U+0472.
An obvious accidental oops.

It could take months for the GF folks to get this fixed.
So I did a quick-fix on only the Bold font.

The right side-bearing is now set to45 - the same as the left.

GoogleSans-Bold.fixed.U+0472.RSB.zip

Should be OK, but I did not test it extensivly.

Thanks for the report! We were already aware of the issue and the fix is on the way. This should be released sometime in the Q1 of 2026.

@simoncozens this made me think of an idea for a sidebearing check in fontspector for catching situations like this one: when a sidebearing is much different in one master then in default. We could think up a reasonable tolerance range (like we did in the "suspicious kern pairs").

Sounds like a very good idea. We could take the average of how sidebearings vary and see if there are any outliers.
