GnopenSea DAO NFT Ecosystem

Overview

A fully decentralized NFT marketplace ecosystem governed by two interconnected DAOs on Gno.land blockchain.

Components

1. GnopenSea Marketplace DAO

Purpose: Govern the NFT marketplace operations and economics

Membership: 10 GNOT stake required

Governance Powers:

  • Approve/remove NFT collections for listing
  • Update marketplace fees (0-10%)
  • Withdraw treasury funds
  • Force cancel problematic listings

Proposal Types:

  1. Approve Collection - Whitelist new collections
  2. Remove Collection - Delist scam/problematic collections
  3. Update Fees - Modify marketplace fee structure
  4. Withdraw Treasury - Manage accumulated fees
  5. Force Cancel Listing - Remove fraudulent listings

2. NFT Registry DAO

Purpose: Verify and curate NFT collections at the protocol level

Membership: 10 GNOT stake required

Governance Powers:

  • Verify collections (mark as legitimate)
  • Unverify collections (revoke verification)

Proposal Types:

  1. Verify Collection - Add verification badge
  2. Unverify Collection - Remove verification badge

Two-Layer Validation System

For an NFT to be listed on the marketplace, it must pass both layers:

Collection Registration
         ↓
[Layer 1: Technical] → NFT Registry checks GRC721 compliance
         ↓
[Layer 2: Governance] → Marketplace DAO votes to approve
         ↓
     Can List NFTs

Governance Process

Voting Parameters

  • Voting Period: 10 minutes (testing) / 7 days (production)
  • Quorum: 30% of members must vote
  • Decision Rule: Simple majority (>50%)
  • Vote Choices: YES, NO, ABSTAIN

Workflow

  1. Proposal Creation - DAO member creates proposal
  2. Voting Period - Members vote YES/NO
  3. Execution - After deadline, anyone can execute if passed
  4. Archiving - Proposal moved to archive with final status
