There is currently no clearly defined or documented setting that explicitly enables or disables CSV download.
Issue #58 mentions CSV download, but it is unclear:
- Which configuration actually controls it
- Whether it is global, per-view, or permission-based
- Whether CSV export is intentionally disabled or implicitly restricted
This makes it difficult for operators and users to understand whether CSV download is supported, misconfigured, or unavailable by design.
Expected behavior
- An explicit setting (config / permission / UI toggle) that controls CSV download
- Clear documentation of:
- Setting name
- Default value
- Scope (global, per dashboard, per user role)
- Consistent and predictable CSV download behavior once enabled
Motivation
Without a clearly defined setting, CSV download behavior appears opaque and confusing.
Users may assume CSV export is broken, while in reality it may be disabled implicitly.
Making this explicit would improve usability, debuggability, and documentation clarity.
Additional context
If CSV download is already supported, please document the exact setting or permission that enables it.
If it is not supported, clarifying this explicitly would also resolve the confusion around #58.
