  • I was not able to find an open or closed issue matching what I'm seeing

Setup

  • Which version of Git for Windows are you using? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

I have three similar Windows 7 machines. Issue is present on two of them. I cannot find any relevant difference.

  • Which terminal/shell are you running Git from? e.g Bash/CMD/PowerShell/other

  • What did you expect to occur after running these commands?

Being able to type in a file name

  • What actually happened instead?

Instead of waiting for my input, it just jumps to a new prompt, so I'm not able to type the file name

  • If the problem was occurring with a specific repository, can you provide the
    URL to that repository to help us with testing?
