feat: Add delete all runs function - #1233
Wootark-Kim wants to merge 6 commits into
Conversation
Create a new function called: handleConfirmDeleteAll() Architecture proposal: deleting individual runs flowchart currently looks like this: handleConfirmDelete() --> deleteRunFromStorage(row.runId) → backend Run.destroy(...) --> handleDelete() thus, for bulk run delete option, I implemented a parallel architecture for deleting all runs associated with the selected robot: handleConfirmDeleteAll() --> deleteAllRunsFromStorage(robotId) → backend Run.destroy(...) --> handleDeleteAll()

WalkthroughAdds an authenticated endpoint that deletes runs for supported robot types after checking robot ownership. The runs table adds a confirmation flow and a delete-all action for scrape, document, search, crawl, and extract robots. On success, it reports the result and refreshes run data. 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Ownership check is correct, but active runs are deleted with no guard.
The route verifies that the robot belongs to the signed-in user and that its type is scrape. This is good. The Run.destroy call at Line 1129 deletes all runs, including runs with status running or queued.
If a run is active, the interpreter and the processQueuedRuns poller can then update or load a row that no longer exists. The user can also leave a live browser session orphaned.
Exclude active statuses from the delete. Alternatively, return 409 when active runs exist.
Proposed fix
- await Run.destroy({ where: { robotMetaId: req.params.robotMetaId } });
+ await Run.destroy({
+ where: {
+ robotMetaId: req.params.robotMetaId,
+ status: { [Op.notIn]: ['running', 'queued', 'aborting'] },
+ },

@Wootark-Kim thank you! I think we can just expand this to include all robot types in this PR itself, rather than creating a separate issue/PR later |
|
Sounds good! I'll work on adding this feature to all robots types then. |

Hi @amhsirak ! Done. The "Delete all" feature should be available for all 5 robots (scrape, document, search, crawl, and extract). This should contribute to a more smooth experience for the user when they attempt to delete robot and run data. |
PR in regards to #1217
Hi @amhsirak @RohitR311
Relevant context:
For now, I limited/isolated this feature to just the Scrape robot to keep the scope small - I want to see if this looks good before I expand it to other robots.
(if approved/merged, then I can create another issue and then expand it to the rest of the other robots).
Attempted to minimize file changes for maintainability purposes by identifying that only these 3 files are relevant:
Summary:
I went ahead and made sure what the correct flowchart was for deleting individual runs, which seems to be:

Therefore, for maintainability purpose, I created a parallel architecture and naming scheme for the feature that deletes all runs:

Delete button now shows on the top right location

Clicking will produce the following confirmation message:

Successful deletes will then produce a final confirmed message:

Any thoughts?
