Proposal file isn't in the tree — reconstructing the spec from the item, PR #884, and code evidence. Context gathered. Writing the spec now. Wrote `docs/superpowers/plans/2026-10-06-cross-instance-pr-identity-and-claims.md`. Summary: design spec for item #347 (cross-instance PR identity and claims). Documents the observed bug (hand-opened PRs #868/#870/#872 adopted by the race winner `flared:c997d745ae66`; sequence-only `item_owns_branch` in `src/worktree/mod.rs`; write-only `beacon:` labels), then specifies P1–P6: origin stamp at PR creation, local-evidence branch ownership, tighter discovery marker matching, ownership-gated supervisor actions, readable beacon, claim-protocol hardening. 4-phase rollout with phase 1 mapped to already-merged PR #884; includes the P4 supervisor call-site audit checklist (self-repair, review-repair, branch update, mark-ready, merge/promotion, stray-heal, label writes), per-phase test plan, and risks. Phases 2–4 explicitly marked not implemented. No application code touched, no PR opened. Agentflare-Branch: task/347-cross-instance-pr-identity-and-claims-st Agentflare-Item: 347

1506-1515: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winTest the production project-root branch probe.
The discovery tests inject the branch predicate. The
run_review_sweeptests use repositories without a remote, so they do not reach this callback. The genericrun_in_oktest does not check the callback’s root or ref. A false probe can prevent a sequence-matched PR from attaching and can make discovery create another item or skip the PR. Add a test for the production root/ref binding that asserts the PR attaches to the existing item.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Phase 1 of the cross-instance PR identity design (item #347, design doc attached to it).
Bug.
item_owns_branchmatchedtask/<N>[-slug]on the sequence number alone, and sequence numbers are per instance (each workstation has its own unsynced item DB). So PR discovery attached a PR whose branch another workstation pushed to this instance's unrelated item #N, writingmetadata.pronto it.Fix. Discovery now attaches by branch name only when the branch is backed by local evidence: the item recorded it in
metadata.pr.branch, or the sequence matches and this clone has a localrefs/heads/<branch>. A branch that exists only on the remote falls through to the normal claim-and-track path, as for any other foreign PR.discover_untracked_prstakes alocal_branchpredicate; the supervisor passes agit rev-parse --verify refs/heads/<b>check.item_owns_branchis unchanged foris_own_pr(the item's own push path).Limits.
git pull/fetchonly createrefs/remotes/origin/*, so they cannot fake the evidence (checked in a scratch repo); an explicitgit checkout <foreign-branch>would create a local branch and make this clone look like the owner. It does not change the PR claim protocol (#632 claim marker, #694 stamp check), which already guarantees a single tracker per PR across instances; what it leaves open is that the winning instance is not necessarily the one that created an unstamped PR. That is phase 2 (origin stamp, grace window, ownership-gated actions).Tests:
a_foreign_branch_matching_a_local_sequence_number_is_not_attached,a_recorded_pr_branch_attaches_without_a_local_branch; existing discovery/worktree tests pass (20 + 90). Clippy clean. Both instances need this change to close the race, so deploy together.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
