Panic at `geotiff-0.0.2/src/reader.rs:303:17`

I got thread 'main' panicked at 'index out of bounds: the len is 0 but the index is 0' on loading a geotiff, which libgeotiff happily parses. Unfortunately, I can not share the tiff in question.
